In this region we provide Rep A/AA baseball teams at the 15U, 13U, 11U and 9U age ranges. These teams will be formed in February and play through to the end of August. Contact Rep@SouthBendBears.ca.
If you played baseball in a Little League or similar program, you are also eligible to come out for a Select team which runs in July and August. You will need to make your intentions to join Select before the end of May as Select teams will be determined June 1st. Contact Select@SouthBendBears.ca.
I live in the Kanata/Stittsville area. What does South Bend provide for me?
Kanata Little League Baseball Association has the Baseball Ontario Rep playing rights in this region so if you play Rep your first choice should be there. If you are not selected to a Rep team in Kanata, then you are released and can play for *ANY* OBA Rep program in the National Capital Region including the South Bend Bears. If you do not wish to play Rep baseball, or only want to play in Spring, then you can join the South Bend House A program! This is intended to be a step up from other competing programs in the area. Players will experience the Baseball Ontario model, with Leadoffs and pickoffs at 13U and a more enjoyable game format at 11U. House League OBA hasn't been done before in Ottawa but it is the norm in the rest of Ontario. If there is a Baseball Ontario (OBA) or Baseball Quebec team in your region, then you should try out there. If you were cut from or are not happy with that program, or want to play in the only OBA house in the city, then please contact Registration@SouthBendBears.ca
My 2007 son lives in West Carleton. Can he go to sort outs for House A?
Yes! As this is the only OBA house league across the region, there are no restrictions on player movements for this program.
Hi....The posters say there is a U15 team, but on the main page only U14 is listed (birth year 2005). My son will be 15 in July, can he tryout/play?
The team will be 15U for players born 2004 and 2005. Coached by Carleton Place local and NCAA player Connor Fitzgerald.
